That includes dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, veneers and jaw disorders.

What to Expect

Appointments

Depending on the complexity of your proposed prosthodontic treatment, your prosthodontist may require 2 to 3 appointments to prepare a plan of care, ensure comprehension and eventual consent to the plan. Further appointments may be required for more complex treatment.

At your initial consultation, your prosthodontist will complete a comprehensive examination, possibly taking radiographs, study models of your teeth, photographs and additional tests, before broadly explaining the diagnosis and available treatment options.

At a follow up appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your treatment plan at length.

A referral is not essential to seek a consultation with a prosthodontist.

Appointment Duration

Your first consultation will take approximately 30 minutes, whilst treatment appointments will usually take approximately 60 to 90 minutes. Review appointments are approximately 15 minutes.

Fees & Private Health

Prior to treatment commencing, you will receive an estimate of fees and available payment options for your proposed treatment. Fees will vary widely depending on your individual treatment plan and will be discussed with you in detail.

Patients with private health insurance may be entitled to rebates on the cost of treatment, depending on the type of policy and the level of cover held.
