Dr Rob Shea

Dr Rob Shea has been practicing Dentistry for over 35 years. His major clinical and research interest is in the use of oral devices for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. Since 2005, Rob has focused his practice on Dental Sleep Medicine.
Rob has maintained a leading role in the education of Dentists in Sleep Medicine and has lectured extensively across Australia. From 2011 to 2014, he was a Senior Lecturer in Dental Sleep Medicine at The University of Adelaide Dental School. During this time, he was instrumental in the development of the Graduate Diploma program in Dental Sleep Medicine.
In October 2017, Rob was jointly awarded the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA) Presidents Award. This highly prestigious recognition represents Rob’s significant and sustained contribution to the work of the ASA aims and objectives, especially in regard to Dental Sleep Medicine.
Rob is currently co-chair of the Australasian Sleep Association Dental Sleep Medicine Council and a visiting dentist at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health. In the years that Rob has been practicing Dental Sleep Medicine, he has successfully treated over 1,500 patients with oral appliances.
