Dr. Jonathan Rogers Honoured with OAM for Service to Dentistry
Distinguished dentist Dr Jonathan Rogers has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his outstanding service to dentistry. His name was announced on the King’s Birthday Honours List, recognising his significant contributions across various roles in the dental profession.
Dr. Rogers, whose career spans over four decades, has made a lasting impact on dentistry through his dedication to clinical excellence.
A graduate of the University of Adelaide, Dr Rogers began his career in private practice, quickly establishing himself as a leading practitioner known for meticulous patient care and innovative treatment methods. His commitment to advancing dental techniques and technologies set him apart early in his career.
Contribution to North Adelaide Dental Care
One of the most notable aspects of Dr Rogers’ career has been his substantial contribution to the growth of our sister clinic, North Adelaide Dental Care. Under his leadership, the clinic became a model for comprehensive dental services, implementing innovative patient care protocols and expanding services to include advanced treatments previously inaccessible to the local community, which as heavily impacted what the clinic is today in the current era.
Extensive Expertise and Recognition
With over 45 years of dental practice, Dr. Jonathan Rogers has an interest in Complex Dental Care, including Reconstructive and Aesthetic Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, and treating anxious patients. He graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1975 and earned a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) in 1981.
He is a member of several international dental honour academies, including the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists, and the Academy of Dentistry International. He was appointed as a Life-Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy in 2011.
Dr. Rogers was also instrumental in establishing the Membership Program at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) and chaired the Board of Studies for the Membership program, further cementing his commitment to advancing the field of dentistry.
Upon receiving the OAM, Dr Rogers expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his dedication to dentistry. “I am very honoured and humbled to receive this recognition and I am well aware these awards are never the work of one person. I have been privileged to be in this profession and working with great people.”
Peers and colleagues have praised Dr Rogers for his dedication, describing him as a mentor, innovator, and leader in dentistry. He hopes to inspire future generations of dental practitioners to pursue excellence and prioritize compassionate patient care.
